General registration procedures
International students will receive a letter of admission indicating the courses to which they have been admitted to. Course introduction is mandatory and the students must also web register on the course before the start of term.
Exchange students will receive their letter of admission by e-mail or by regular mail. The letters are sent continuously during the admission process, with priority given to applicants in need of a student residence permit and in consideration of the arrival date of the application. Exchange students do not have to confirm their place.
Non-exchange students will be notified by e-mail from www.studera.nu in mid-July for the autumn semester and mid-December for the spring semester. If they are applying for single subject courses taught in English or courses and programmes taught in Swedish, they must actively confirm their acceptance of a place at Karlstad University. If they do not return their acceptance of courses by the date indicated, they will forfeit their place. Non-exchange students applying for master programmes taught in English do not have to confirm their place.
Registration procedures
For administrative reasons final registration of international students is made by the respective departments at the start of each course. Course introduction is therefore mandatory. Information about the start of your course/s will be sent to your address in Karlstad by the administrator of your course/subject or by e-mail.
Students must also web register on the course at the start of term. When you register for a programme or course, you accept admission. If you do not register, you risk losing your place on the course. Registration is made at the beginning of each course. In general, you can make your web registration from one week before your course starts until the day before the start. The course administrator can provide information about the course portal registration period.
