Academic guidance

There are many student advisers ready to help students in need of guidance and information before enrolling in higher education or during their study period at Karlstad University.

The student advisers can be consulted on any study-related issue before you start at the university and while you are studying. They help out with career and study choices, exam guidance, study grants, scholarships, and credit transfers. They can answer questions relating to choosing a course of study, study techniques and possible occupational areas and professions, and many other matters.

The advisors at Karlstad University are available for individual appointment, contact by phone and e-mail, drop-in visits, and for giving group information and arranging study visits. A counselling appointment can broaden perspectives and help students start thinking on how to proceed and to set up goals and sub targets based on the students’ capacity, personality, interests and circumstances.

All advisers are obligated by law to observe confidentiality. They will not pass on any information about a student’s personal situation without his/her consent.
