International profile
Our ambition is to be as an active and important link in the Swedish system of higher education and, at the same time, maintain our strong regional basis and international outlook.
As regards internationalisation, Karlstad University has set its targets very high, aiming to provide good opportunities for students to spend part of their study period at universities outside Sweden, and also to attract international students to Karlstad for a semester or a year. With this in mind, the University is offering an increasing number of courses and programmes in English. Doctoral students also have the opportunity to spend time at a foreign university as part of their education.
Karlstad University was also the first university in Sweden to receive the ECTS Label (2006-2009).
