1843 Teacher training
1907 Nursing education
1967 College affiliated to Gothenburg University
1974 One building houses the affiliated college and teacher training
1977 Karlstad University College
1987 Karlstad research model
1989 Development programme: "Karlstad University"
1993 Master´s degrees in 13 subjects
1995 Appointment of professors
1997 Permanent research funds / Interim faculty organisation
1998 University College of Health Science integrated into the University College
1999 Karlstad University founded
2000 Master´s degree in 24 subjects. Doctorates in 18 subjects
2002 Ingesund College of Music integrated into the University. The new University Library inaugurated
2006 New faculty organization
2009 Ten years since Karlstad University was founded
